Electrifying Touch
Cobra make the widest range and in our car alarm review we recommend the 8186 for soft top cars as it comes with a microwave sensor as standard. Of all the other Cobra car alarms reviewed the 7928 is compact and ideal where space is limited while the 8808 has been designed to easily and quickly fit into modern cars with a can-bus system.
In our car alarm review of Viper we found both cat1 alarms had 3 circuit immobilisers, most Thatcham alarms on the market only have 2 circuit immobilisers. Out of the 2 Viper car alarms reviewed, top of the range 480vx comes with a 19 icon display in the remote fob for reporting and confirming the status of the system, along with zone and sensor trigger identification.
Toad also make a wide range of models and in our car alarm review we recommend the Ai606 for its extra programmable features while the C4T and C5T are a nice compact design that can fit into any small space. Reviewing the Toad 850T we recommend it for cars that have compatible remote controls as it utilises the existing remote control to arm and disarm the alarm instead of a new pair of remotes to operate the alarm and central locking system.
Gemini make a cat1 and cat2>1 and in our car alarm review we recommend them both for their programmable features. Finally our car alarms review ends with GT who also make a category 1 and 2>1, both offer very good value for money.
